ManyTek Academy
The public website and school management system for ManyTek Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cybersecurity training academy, built with PHP, PostgreSQL and HTML for learners, admissions and programme administration.
Overview
ManyTek Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, that delivers verified cybersecurity and IT workforce pathways for learners, career changers, veterans and underserved communities across the United States, Ghana and beyond. They needed a public site that explains their programmes clearly, plus a school management system so admissions, learners and staff can run day-to-day academy operations online.
What we built
A public academy website and an integrated school management system on one PHP and PostgreSQL stack.
- Public site with pathways, bootcamps, admissions, scholarships, news and events, and enquiry and apply flows
- Programme pages covering Workforce Pathways™, SOC Analyst Accelerator™, Cyber Range™ practice environments and Career Success support
- School management system for applications, learner records, programme enrolment and staff administration
- Learner-facing portal access alongside staff tools for running cohorts
- Responsive HTML front end that works on phones and desktops
- Clear contact paths for learners, employers, universities and sponsors
Our process
- Discovery: mapped the academy's nonprofit mission, pathway catalogue and the admin work admissions and staff need to do every week.
- Product design: separated the public marketing site from the school management workflows, while keeping apply and enquiry paths simple for new learners.
- Engineering: built the site and school management system with PHP and PostgreSQL, with an HTML front end for public pages and authenticated academy tools.
- Launch: went live at manytek.org, ready for new cohorts, articles and programme updates.
The result
ManyTek Academy is live at https://manytek.org. Prospective learners can explore pathways and apply, and the academy team can manage school operations in the same platform rather than juggling separate tools.
